Installing a Physical SIM Card on an iPhone
Follow these steps to install a Unity Extend physical SIM card into your iPhone.
What You’ll Need
- Your Unity Extend SIM card
- The SIM eject tool supplied with your iPhone (or a small paperclip)
Installation Steps
- Power off your iPhone (recommended).
- Locate the SIM tray, usually found on the left or right side of the device.
- Insert the SIM eject tool into the small pinhole next to the SIM tray.
- Gently press until the SIM tray pops out.
- Remove the SIM tray and place the SIM card into the slot, ensuring it is correctly aligned.
- Carefully reinsert the SIM tray into the iPhone.
- Power the device back on.
- Wait a few moments for the iPhone to detect the SIM and connect to the mobile network.
Verify the SIM is Active
- Open Settings.
- Select Mobile Service or Mobile Data.
- Confirm the Unity Extend SIM is displayed.
- Verify that the SIM shows a network connection and is enabled.
- If your iPhone supports multiple SIMs, ensure the correct SIM is selected for calling and mobile services as required.
Troubleshooting
If the SIM is not recognised:
- Ensure the SIM is correctly seated in the tray.
- Restart the iPhone.
- Confirm the device is carrier unlocked and supports VoLTE.
- Verify mobile network coverage is available.
- Test the SIM in another compatible device if available.
Note: If your iPhone supports both a physical SIM and an eSIM, ensure the correct line is selected for business calls under Settings > Mobile Service.
If the eSIM feature is not available on your iPhone, please follow these steps:
- Check iOS Software: Begin by confirming that your iPhone is running the most current iOS version. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check and update if necessary.
- Restart the Device: A straightforward restart can often address minor software problems. Restart your iPhone and then check for the eSIM option again.
- Network Settings Reset (Proceed with Caution): As a more advanced troubleshooting step, you can reset your network settings. This action will erase all saved Wi-Fi passwords and cellular settings, requiring you to reconfigure them. This option is located in Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
- Geographic Limitations: It’s important to be aware that iPhones sold in mainland China do not include eSIM compatibility.
- Contact Apple: If the eSIM option remains unavailable after completing these steps, please reach out to Apple Support for further diagnosis and support.
